How to read this list

Filed vs. traded
"Traded" is when the transaction happened; "Filed" is when the member disclosed it. Members have up to 45 days to report, so trades show up weeks after they happen.
Amount
The law only requires a value range (for example $1,001 – $15,000), not the exact amount.
Owner
Who holds the asset: the member (Self), their spouse (SP), a joint account (JT) or a dependent child (DC).
Type
Purchase, Sale, Partial sale, or Exchange (one holding swapped for another).

Where the data comes from

Under the STOCK Act, members of the House of Representatives file Periodic Transaction Reports with the Office of the Clerk. This page downloads those public reports every hour and reads the trades out of each electronically filed PDF. Every row links to the original filing, which is the official record — if anything here differs from it, the filing is correct.

Member photos are the official congressional portraits (public domain). Party, district and website come from the open congress-legislators dataset.

This page currently covers the House of Representatives. The underlying data is also available as JSON.

For information only. Nothing on this page is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Trades are disclosed weeks after they happen, values are ranges, and automated reading of filings can contain errors — always check the original filing. Bouncing Ball Creations is not affiliated with the U.S. House of Representatives. Under 5 U.S.C. § 13107(c), financial disclosure reports may not be used for any unlawful or commercial purpose (other than by news and communications media for dissemination to the general public), to determine anyone's credit rating, or for soliciting money.
